GUTHRIE TARTAN MATERIAL

The Guthrie Tartans were developed by the late Colonel Ivan B. Guthrie of Guthrie of Guthrie. They are among the rarest in all of Scotland. The three designs are:

DRESS TARTAN [aka Ancient] - a dark blue and green plaid with red/orange stripes.

BATTLE TARTAN [aka Weathered] - same pattern but primarily brown & bluish gray w/ red striping.

MODERN TARTAN - follows the same pattern but is primarily dark navy & dark green with red stripes.

Check with your tailor and/or skirt-maker to determine how much of this 56" wide material you'll need. But plan to wear the resulting garment for decades as this material wears and wears!

Order directly from Scotland. The price depends upon the version you choose and is in pounds sterling. Remember - the exchange rate varies daily. Tartan fabric is 100% wool available in two weights (10 oz Ancient/Modern/Weathered f/skirts and 16 oz Ancient/Modern f/8 yd men's kilts).
