AVAILABILITY
We are pleased that you would like to join the 2010 tours which are
being offered by Clan Guthrie USA . Please read this section along with the
“Tour Inclusions” pages carefully. This should answer any questions you might
have regarding the tour.
RESERVATION FORM
You will find a separate link entitled "Tour Reservation Form" which
you will need to completely fill out and mail, with your payment, to Jeanne
Guthrie, Owner, Guthrie Style Tours, 1227 Crossings Ct NE , Cedar Rapids , IA
52402 . Please keep a Xerox copy for yourself of both front & back pages.
A special separate Reservation Form must be completed for "Alpine Splendor."
In submitting the Reservation Form you also agree to the Terms and Conditions,
and Release of Liability to Jeanne Guthrie, Guthrie Style Tours, Bowens Coaches,
Clan Guthrie USA , their Board of Directors, or any one in its membership. By
submitting and signing the Tour Reservation Form, you also acknowledge that
you are voluntarily participating in the trip and you are aware that it involves
some inherent risks and danger including, but not limited to, forces of nature,
terrorism, civil unrest, strikes, wild animals, theft, cancellation or changes
in itinerary, negligent action of others or their agencies or means of conveyance
or accommodation which may not be operated nor maintained to standards common
in the United States.
DEPOSITS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
At the time you submit your Tour Reservation Form, it must be accompanied by
a $250.00 per person non-refundable deposit. Payment in full is required
if your booking is made less than 90 days prior to the tour departure date.
If you want to cancel your reservation, you will forfeit your entire $250.00
per person deposit . Notice of your intention of cancellation must be in
writing to Jeanne Guthrie, Guthrie Style Tours, 1227 Crossings Ct NE , Cedar
Rapids , IA 52402 . If you have already paid for your tour in full, a percentage
of your payment will be held as a cancellation fee due to non-refundable charges
incurred by the motorcoach company and hotels on the following schedule:
* More than 90 days prior to departure with receipt of written cancellation you will lose your $250.00 per person deposit. All other payment will be returned.
* 45 - 90 days prior to departure with receipt of written
cancellation you will lose your $250.00 per person deposit plus 50% of your
total payment.
* 21 - 45 days prior to departure
with receipt of written cancellation you will lose your $250.00 per person deposit
plus 75% of your total payment.
* 21 days or less prior to departure,
or after departure, there will be no refund .
There will be no refunds for unused
portions of your tour, such as days missed due to missed travel connections,
visiting relatives while on the tour, meals you choose not to take, included
excursions you choose not to take, etc. You do not have to participate
in any daily excursion if you wish to do some other activity. However, on days
of travel between hotels or departure from an area, you must travel on the motorcoach
unless we have made prior arrangements for you. Those travel arrangements would
be at an additional cost to yourself.
FITNESS AND HEALTH
The tours are not strenuous. Time traveling on the motorcoach is broken up by
regular rest breaks to visit sights and get some exercise off the motorcoach.
The pace is calm and relaxed, and you will not feel rushed. Anyone who is reasonably
fit should have no trouble with any of the planned itinerary. You must be able
to climb the steps onto the motorcoach as there is no lift. Some of the older hotels
do not have elevators and you may have to take the stairs. You may specifically
request a room on the "ground floor."
On your Tour Reservation Form there is a section asking about any Medical Condition
of which we should be aware. This is to give professional medics your information
should you need their assistance so they know of any conditions which might
affect you.
If you have any special needs or any physical condition that you feel might
prevent you from fully participating, please question Jeanne Guthrie at 319/364-6640.
On tours of this type it is not possible to accommodate persons with severe
health problems or physical disabilities. It is the passenger's responsibility
to judge for themselves the appropriateness of the travel activities to their
own physical capabilities.
INSURANCE
Each tour participant must be covered by their own medical insurance. Please
check with your own insurance provider to determine whether you will be covered
overseas. They can provide an additional rider if needed.
We strongly recommend that you also enroll in Trip Cancellation
- Trip Interruption Insurance .
A brochure
will be mailed to you upon receipt of your tour deposit. It is vital for you
to know that if you experience a delay or find it necessary to cancel or cut
short your trip for any reason, you will lose part or all of your payment. (See
above: "Cancellations, Deposits, Refunds").
Travel Insurance helps to minimize the risk on monetary losses you may incur.
With certain restrictions, the insurance does cover certain delays, certain
cases of your inability to travel, baggage, and partial medical insurance assistance.
Complete details are listed in the brochure which will be mailed to you which
includes prices and coverage.
CHANGES IN SERVICES
Itinerary: We reserve the right to
maintain flexibility in the itinerary whenever, in our judgment, conditions
warrant (for example weather, local events, or other timely considerations),
without consulting the participants. Tour participants have no right to any
refund of other considerations in the event of these itinerary changes. We also
reserve the right to cancel any tour before departure, in which case a full
refund of all tour payments made to Guthrie Style Tours will be refunded. In
the unlikely event of a tour cancellation, we will do our best to assist you
in placing you on an alternate available tour if you would still like to travel.
Rates: Rates are based on tariffs,
U.S. exchange rates and supplier fees in
effect at the time of this publishing. We reserve the right to alter our prices
due to increase in supplier rates or fluctuation in the currency exchange rate.
You will be notified if this becomes necessary 90 days prior to departure.
RESPONSIBILITY
Jeanne Guthrie, Guthrie Style Tours and Bowens Travel Limited - hereinafter
known as the Tour Operators - are only responsible for securing the services
and facilities of various operators and assume no responsibility or liability
in connection with the services of any hotel, restaurant, motor coach, train,
vessel, aircraft, or other conveyance, which is used either wholly or in part,
in the performance of the operator's duty to the participant. In the event that
it becomes necessary or advisable for any reason whatsoever to alter the itinerary
or arrangements, we retain the right to do so. Additional expenses incurred
will be borne by the participants. We reserve the right to cancel this tour
prior to departure in which case the entire payment will be refunded without
further obligation on our part. No partial refunds will be given for unused
hotel rooms, meals, sightseeing, or any travel arrangements on land or water.
Payment or a deposit &/or balance in connection with tour described in this
quotation, or any other material of any sort mentioning these arrangements,
signifies acceptance by the tour participant of all terms and conditions contained
herein. The tour price is based on land only, double occupancy. Airfare and
Cancellation Insurance is additional.
GENERAL TRAVEL INFORMATION
Closer to your tour departure date, Jeanne will send you a packet of information
which will include a final tour itinerary, listing of hotels with telephone
numbers to leave at home with relatives, luggage tags, and a very detailed information
sheet. This sheet covers general travel information you will need to know during
your journey including customs, airport security, passport control, suggested
packing list, clothing, weather, electricity, money exchange, travelers checks,
and more. Everything you could possible want to know.
