"Southern Wales: Swansea, Tenby & the Pembroke Coast" Tour

The scenic Pembrokeshire coast, with its miles of golden beaches, pretty fishing harbors, unspoiled countryside and sites of historic interest has long been a magnet for visitors. This tour, based in Swansea, gives you the opportunity to visit the scenic Gower Peninsula, ancient Carmarthen and the delightful harbor town of Tenby. You'll enjoy scenic delights and return home with plenty of wonderful memories.

Your hotel for four nights will be The Dolphin Hotel in the heart of Swansea. The hotel is set up to accommodate groups. It is simple but pleasing. All rooms are en suite, and it has a bar and restaurant. Your dinner and breakfast daily is included at the hotel in Swansea.

Included in the tour excursions different days:

The Mumbles & Gower Peninsula: To Mumbles Bay, with its long promenade, passing Oystermouth Castle ruins and the lighthouse on Mumbles Head (shown at left). Then to the Gower Coast and Port Einon Point, famed for golden beaches and cliff scenery. This will be an entire day of breathtaking beauty, so make sure you have several rolls of film handy, or an extra card for your digital camera! You will certainly agree that Wales the best kept secret.


Carmarthen & Tenby: The market town of Carmarthen is the oldest town in Wales. Next we drive to Tenby, a delightful harbor town encircles by ancient walls. Old houses face the stone jetty, and sandy beaches are sheltered by cliffs. The town has a fine church and a Tudor Merchant's House with period furniture. You will be enchanted by the walled old town and its unusual rounded entrance shown on our Wales cover page

As an optional excursion, your driver will offer you the opportunity for a day trip which is not part of the tour cost, but it is for a nominal fee. If you do not choose to take the optional excursion, you will have your day free to explore Swansea. Check out www.welshwales.co.uk

National Botanic Garden of Wales: A day to enjoy the beautiful National Botanic Gardens, centerpiece of which is the famed Great Glasshouse, housing a magnificent Mediterranean landscape. Visitors also can experience a taste of the Australian Outback, and wander through a magnificent collection of Fuchsia from Chile. This excursion is also included in the tour price.
